Kindle Fire Review
The kindle fire has finally been released and the reviews have been amazing: check out the advantages and disadvantages of the Kindle Fire and how it compares with the iPad 2.
Advantages of the Kindle Fire
The Kindle Fire is more portable and easier to hold than the iPad and HP Touchpad.
* Quick Start - Connect to Wi-Fi and get going. Battery comes mostly charged.
* Comes pre-registered, but you can register to another person with an Amazon account.
* Navigation is intuitive.
* Movies come in clearer than any other device, including desktop computers.
* Navigating Internet is mostly fast and sometimes not. I consider this a net positive.
* Good value convinced me to buy 2nd one to be used by family.
* Outstanding sound - listened to audio book and liked it.
* Cloud storage - this is something Amazon is really good at.
* Borrow library e-books from libraries that purchase e-books.
* Very nice book reading screen in terms of easy on eyes.
Disadvantages
* I would trade to a larger screen if I could.
* Screen too small to simultaneously see graphics and reading text.
* There is no camera, microphone, GPS function, and Bluetooth or memory-card slot.
* Finger marks on screen don't always register or get the intended link unless you enlarge or use stylus.
* Like all tablet computers, it's like having credit card in hand at all times.
Points of Notes
* Turn pages by sliding finger all the way across page and a good technique is to drop your finger as follow through.
* Netflix app wasn't available just when I got my unit, although the app is written and supposed to be ready.
* This certainly solidifies future purchases from Amazon.
* Get a stylus. You can pinch the page bigger. For some things though you really need the stylus.
Your purchase includes a free month of Amazon Prime if you don't already have it. This includes free instant movies which is fabulous.
The kindle fire gives many people out there the option to buy a great value tablet and e-reader.
The Amazon Kindle Fire is a fabulous device. Performs well and is versatile enough for all family members. It has exceeded most of my functionality expectations. At $199 this price will not last so I am going to buy a few more as Christmas gifts for some of my family members
Overall the Kindle fire is a 9 out of 10. For the price it is a 10 out of 10.
